NOW - Utilisation of the Open-Source-concept in Economy and Industry
The potentials that Open Source Software provide in commercial employment have been emphasized in the press over and over again. Nevertheless most German companies have a reserved attitude concerning it.
Objective of this project is to analyse concerns and resentments of German companies regarding Open Source and to elaborate solution concepts. Some main aspects are requirements of project management and industrial software development as well as business models. Development tools and infrastructural components are ideal candidates for Open Source and therefore subject of trials in the project.
An essential part of the project will be a portal, where project results will be presented and discussed continuously and tools supporting development- and employment processes will be tested.
